Trekking

Okay, so you find mountains interesting, but you don t want to climb. That s alright, because Gran Canaria offers you other options to still enjoy yourself. Why don t you go trekking then? The island features a wide range of trekking routes suited for any level. You can go take the easiest walks and get to know the rich flora of Gran Canaria on a leisurely stroll. Or, if you consider yourself experienced already, you can go have give yourself a shot at the difficult paths. You can literally stroll down through history with the island s well-known ancient routes. Caminos Reales are in no doubt some of the most sought-after. They go back in ancient times, and have been used by guanches who lived there centuries ago. And because Gran Canaria features more than 20 climates, it is up to you to decide when you want to go, what you prefer to wear, and which routes you plan to explore. Please keep in mind that the northeastern part of Gran Canaria is usually windy and humid. On the other hand, the southern part of the island is generally known to be sunny and dry. It is important to take note of this, not only if you want to go trekking, but for all the activities you have in mind. It s always best to be prepared!
